File transfer programs (FTP)
When your website is ready for publication you must upload (transfer / send) all the pages and all the images to the web host's server.
Some web editing programs (like Dreamweaver, Expression Web and the now discontinued FrontPage) have this ability integrated in their programs.
If you use a web editing program without this function you need a FTP program to transfer your files to the hosting server.
One of the best commercial programs is WS_FTP from Ipswitch, and you can download a 30-days evaluation copy from their website.
An excellent free alternative is FileZilla; a program with lots of useful features and an intuitive interface. FileZilla's online forum is a good place to get help from other users.
Both programs have built-in help pages.
There are many FTP tutorials available on the 'net, just search for "FTP tutorials" and choose one you like.
